My Perception About Starting Over
“Starting over” is the word that always pops up in my mind every time I wake up in the morning. This statement reminds me to start each day from scratch, meaning that I should always renew and never expect myself to be perfect everyday. I see these moments as a challenge to constantly motivate myself and to achieve my everyday’s momentum. Another circumstance of starting over which I think is one of the hardest, based on my observations from the other people is starting over after a relationship breakup. Well, again, this is based only from my observations because I never experienced it yet(hopefully never). But other than the normal everyday and relationship breakups, starting over in general demands preparation and action.
The first thing I do every time I start over is to ask myself about “When am I ready to start over?”. In general, I believe that using momentous moments such as new year, graduation, a life-changing experience, new day, breakup and so much more are keys that in my perception can provide a momentum to start over. As I achieve that momentum, contemplating the certain situation, accepting the things that cannot be controlled and making my resolutions are important for me before I prepare myself for the action to start again.
After contemplating, accepting things, counting the cost, making resolutions, and planning/preparing multiple options, the second thing I habitually do is to follow a famous line from Nike’s “Just do it”. At this point, I must already achieved my full potential and decision to take action of starting over.
To wrap up, starting over is a part of life. These ways of mine are just my own perception of starting over and there are several other ways to achieve it. I believe that it will not be always easy, but I also believe that it is always possible. Just like in the song of Phillip Phillips titled “Raging fire” says, “time will give and time will take” this simple principle of time based on the song demands us to start over, over and over as time give and take us every moments. This I think will be a constant circular challenge in life, to start over, fail or succeed then to start over again. Good thing, as we start over, we have our choice to keep the old memories. Before I end this blog post, a final message from me to all of us: “Life goes on, never be afraid to start again and keep hope alive! Keep hope alive! KEEP HOPE ALIVE!”.
