Dreamer and Chaser
Have you dreamed of something you really want to do? Now, have you tried that something? Or are you now thinking of what-if statements because you did not give it a shot? In my perspective, I classify two kinds of persons who dreams. Those persons who just dream which I call dreamers and those who dreams and take action for it, I call them chasers.
To differentiate these two kinds of persons, let me illustrate their differences in phases of a day timeline. These phases are the morning, noon and evening. Now let’s begin. In the morning, both dreamer and chaser are energized to think of the things they would do for the whole day. Both of them may begin with an end in mind of “I wanna be something someday...”, but, what makes a chaser with an edge is that he will then move on to think of the things he could do for the day so that he will be closer to his dream by tomorrow. It is noon time!, the chaser has counted the cost, and is taking baby steps for his dreams. On the other hand, the dreamer is still being inspired by his dreaming moments of what possibly he could be. Along those times, both persons have their role models who are at the peak of their dream. The dreamer would compare himself at the state of his role models and might feel that he will never be like them because they are completely different. While, the chaser understands the differences and appreciates his idols’ beginnings before being at their peaks. The chaser is now much more focus on his dream because he is taking actions, rather than the dreamer who did not even tried and still dreaming about other dreams he could be. After noon, the sun goes down and the moon rises. It is now evening!, both persons reflect on what they have done the whole day and start making up their day end realizations. The chaser felt tired yet fulfilled and is about to sleep, while the dreamer is still thinking of what he should have done the whole day instead of just dreaming.
In conclusion, both persons who have dreams, have an end in mind, but the difference between them is that when the chaser starts to materialize his dreams, the dreamer still procrastinates to start and would just make up other dreams only to later realize how unrealistic his dreams were without taking action to put his dreams into reality. This differentiation of the dreamers and chasers explained in just a span of a day. If you see a dreamer in yourself, it’s never late to act, if you feel that you are a chaser, keep on chasing your dreams. Just think of this differentiation in a span of a lifetime. At the time on your dead bed, at the time you are about to reflect the things you have done in your whole life, would you be the dreamer who would say “I should have done this...; I could have been that...; What if I...” or would you be the chaser who feels that he has done what he wanted in life? If you choose to be a chaser, do not just say it, ACT ON IT!
